Acupuncture for Breast Cancer
October is whizzing by and I have barely made mention of the benefits acupuncture can have in the treatment of breast cancer patients and survivors. .
First, I am not suggesting acupuncture be used as a primary therapy in the treatment of breast cancer; however, I am saying that whichever treatment modalities a breast cancer patient is undergoing, acupuncture can be a fantastic complimentary therapy.
Here are a few good reasons to get acupuncture while undergoing breast cancer treatment and post care;
It helps to down-regulate stress, activates the parasympathetic nervous system and regulates the autonomic nervous system
Helps to alleviate symptoms of neuropathy (nerve pain) that may develop as a side-effect of chemotherapy or radiation
Reduces symptoms of nausea, vomiting and decreased appetite associated with chemo
Improves the circulation of lymph and decreases swelling associated with lymphedema and fluid retention
Benefits the immune system
Harmonizes the digestive system
Calms the mind and grounds the emotions
In a very short time, there has been a sudden increase in breast cancer diagnoses. It has become increasingly obvious that our environment is major contributor to this trend.
Whether it is glyphosate (Round-Up) in our food, pharmaceuticals in our drinking water, or plastics we ingest, touch, absorb or inhale, these man-made substances are literally poisoning us.
Man-made synthetic and genetically modified organisms are involved in radically changing the cellular environment to such a degree that it is literally changing our DNA encoding. Our ability to detoxify this level of exposure is diminishing, and each generation bears an increasing burden of exposure.
We need to wake up to the reality of our time: it is not our DNA that determines whether we get breast cancer, or any other cancer for that matter. Cancer is the by-product of toxicity and inflammation.
We are also being exposed at an alarming rate to electromagnetic frequencies that humans have never before been exposed to.
Cell phone use is universal and unfortunately, many women unwittingly carry their cell phones very close to their body, whether tucked into the bra or in the back pocket.
This is indeed a very dangerous habit as there has been evidence for decades that cell phone radiation creates morphological (structural) and electromagnetic changes to the cellular matrix.
When there are structural changes to the cells, there will be functional changes as well.
Considering that cancer is the manifestation of a disregulated immune system; it is prudent to evaluate your own habits and behaviors that may contribute to a decline in immunological function.
For example, throughout the past two years, there has been a massive increase in exposure to disinfectants, sanitizers and cleaners that not only destroy “bad bacteria”, but also indiscriminately destroy beneficial bacteria the lives on and in the body.
Daily usage of hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap has got to stop if we want to build a robust immune system. I would encourage you to go through your home and throw away anything that says “anti-bacterial” or “sanitizer” on it.
The very things that nature gave us to provide us with health and vitality have been replaced with synthetic alternatives.
One of the most unfortunate messages of conventional medicine is to wear sunscreen every day…not only will it increase the toxic burden of your body, but it will prevent you from producing Vitamin D which is an essential hormone for the immune system.
Furthermore, since the advent of sunscreen, skin cancer rates have only increased, as has every other cancer on the planet.
A cancer diagnosis is a terrifying reality, but there are multiple ways to manage that difficult time and acupuncture is simply one of many.
4 things you can do right now to actively prevent cancer:
Expose your bare skin to the sun for a minimum of 20 minutes every day.
Choose organic, non-GMO foods whenever possible
Keep your cell phone away from your body and even carry it EMF blocking case
Throw out all antibacterial soaps, cleaners and sanitizers, swap with good-old fashioned soap.
If you or someone you love is going through treatment for breast cancer, or if you have come out the other side a survivor, may you be blessed with longevity, vitality, and a sense of peace.
